Mas Oyama! Nande?!!

His name is Masutatsu Oyama and I am not going to venture in his life story much. He is the founder of the style of Karate called Kyokushinkai, influenced greatly by his Master Gichin Fokunashi the founder of Shotokan style as well as Master Chojun Miyagi of the Goju ryu style Karate, and perhaps one of the biggest name in the Karate world. His strength throughout the years was magnificent he even wresetled with bulls and sparred in 2 days with 300 men!
I can speak all night about Mas Oyama but i will let this short clip do the visual for me:

Kyokushin and Shotokan are probably the most popular Karate forms in the the "Kumite" or sparring world. The main difference really is that Kyokushin allows low kicks and no punches to the face, while Shotokan allows punches to the face but no blows beneath the belt. Other than that the rules are pretty much the same.

Here are 2 clips for Kyokushin Kumite (I apologize for the cheesy music in the montage):

And here are two clips of Shotokan Kumite so you can recognize the difference:

Mas Oyama is a great influence to many martial artists around the world, I wish i can even come close to what he achieved and have enough time to at least try the different styles of karate he did
